Weekend Re-Cap: Awesomeness

The weekend started out with some ridiculously good stuffed squash blossoms from Cactus, then a stroll along Alki. Don't pet the sea life!

Then we mini-road-tripped it up to Bellingham to help my little sis move (a great excuse to go to Boundary Bay). We got this tapenade, which was SO much more than just a tapenade. Fresh goat cheese and tomates with balsamic and basil. The bread was awesome.

Just some of the many reasons why my Dad is AWESOME:

* He's confident, successful, funny and he takes amazing care of our family
* He speaks German to random people, even if it's his own version of "German"
* He consistently embarrasses us in the grocery store by skipping in the aisles
* We can always count on him for anything
* If you casually mention your car is out of gas, he will automatically go gas it up, tune it up, and take it through the car wash
* He's always encouraged us to pursue the things we want
* His favorite show is the Simpsons and he digs John Stewart and the Colbert Report
* He always helps us out even when we don't ask for it
* He comes to visit me in DC!
* I've learned how to eat & live well, thanks to all the awesome places and trips Dad has taken us on
* He can give a kick-ass speech
* He opened a freakin' museum, people!
* He's always game to take us to the movies or out to dinner or ice cream
* He has survived two teenage girls in an all-girl household
* I don't know why but he often buys "People" along with the latest WWII novel
* He puts dead possums in the garbage
* He's the most loving, funny & awesome Dad ever!
