This just in...

People. I've got a hot manse tip!!! We've got a brand new mansion in the works to beat the previously most-fabulous, Updown Court. UC was sold for $139....but this out of control manse will be sold for around $155.

"The 53,000-square-foot stone and wood mansion will be built at the Yellowstone Club, a members-only, residential ski and golf resort near Bozeman, Montana developed by Blixseth."

Oooh, I wonder what they're going to name this one.

Now that's my kind of manse

The Wyck Estate. I like a property that can call itself a "compound". At $14,750,00, it's a steal. But only if the taxidermy's included.

Undoubtedly one of the most remarkable houses on Boston’s North Shore, the Wyck Estate is a stunning replica of a magnificent French château. This spectacular waterfront estate affords a world of privacy, beauty, and European elegance. Sited to take advantage of the sea views, this 7.85±-acre oceanfront compound overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, Marblehead, and Misery Island. The main residence, built in 1900 using the finest imported materials and craftsmanship radiates the essence of a bygone era. The property’s grounds are exquisitely landscaped with vast rolling lawns, magnificent swimming pool, tennis court, private beach, sandy beach, and dock rights.

brilliant rebel art

This is about as bad as artists get. And particularly appropriate considering seattle is totally freaking out over the olympic sculpture park - the new home to Richard Serra's Wake. Also to be noted: WWU has a Serra that regularly gets vandalized. This is a much better idea.

"The Invisible Graffiti: Magnet Show, an exhibition of "magnetic art" by 17 artists that was surreptitiously installed on a Richard Serra sculpture stored in the waterfront lot of a rigging company in the Bronx, presumably awaiting installation somewhere at a future date. Organized by Marie Lorenz and Lan Tuazon, the show opened at 7 am on Aug. 27, 2006, and ended at about 10:30 am, after a security guard discovered the group of about 20 people who came to see it."

AOTD

High-art at brown bear car wash. I think this is a statment about how we are living in a world we've destroyed and then re-created as what we think is "nature". Or maybe it's about feeling like you're really in the forrest when you're in line to get your car washed. It totally works!

AOTD: todd hido

These are from photographer Todd Hido's "homes at night" and "landscapes" series. They're creepy and ominous so I can't stare at them too long but I love the moodiness about them.

It's true, I'm an heiress.

I think I'm about to inherit this loft in the top of the Smith Tower. Yes, I had that chihuly commissioned for this space.

It's over

I still wanted to post my christmas window. Annie and Megan helped me make it because they are awesome. I just took it down last weekend which is sad because it was pretty. But I'm so over christmas.
This is kinda funny. Sam L: "say blogosphere again". [source: boing boing]

Here's to a better week: AOTD

These photos are part of "The Thought Project" by Simon Hoegsberg.
"Over a period of three months I stopped 150 strangers on the street and asked them about what they were thinking the second before I stopped them. Using a mic and a dictaphone I recorded what they told me, then took a picture of them....all quotes are exactly what they said during the interviews"

Carpet art

This is John's carpet. New Years rules. I love it and I love champagne and cigars and john's tiny stanky ass apartment is the perfect place for it. Oooh! I thought of another resolution: see more art shows. I'm really gonna do that one.

Shameless

I know, this is bad. But it's cute and most people like puppies.

Why not?

People seem to really like sushi everything. And by people, I mean me. I kindof want this.
[the sushi disk from solid alliance]

I forgot that the internet has everything.

Including this guy's "personal collection of aquariums and fish tanks". The "fish tank of the month" section is particularly enjoyable. It has SIX AQUASPACES! I don't know why this is interesting. Ok I don't know why anything on boing boing is but I've accepted that. This is a pic of his newest endeavor: "palmtop aquariums". Hot.

Holidays vs. Mansionmogul

Holidays: 1 Me: 0
Vacation has officially kicked my ass. You people visiting from out of town have also beat me down with your week o' fun and drinking. Fun is exhausting. Well, I'm back on the blog wagon now...I will be posting pics soon (the ones that are less humiliating) of all the shenanigans.

Christmas birthday slut.
Merry christmas, with love from one of the most viewed youtube video over the holidays.
