Beers and butts and chicken
The beer butt chicken ended up being way easy and way good. Also, yeah, I built up that charcoal all by meonesie. THAT'SRIGHT! I read about the recipe here, but instead made up my own rub and mixed it with the melted butter before brushing it on. I used paprika, chili powder, some curry, fresh rosemary, fresh garlic and generic chicken spice. Also just poked holes in the cans on the side so that I could cook the chicken lying down on the grill instead of upright. Oh and I put some of the spices IN the beer cans too ;)

Great Marketing

I like to recognize when I see new and creative marketing. Bugaboo strollers has a whole page on their site devoted to beautiful images of "day trips" for parents to take with their kids in major cities. What a great idea - and the web site is really well executed. {via style files}

Pretty Mini Lamps

These are really pretty parchment shades that fit over any wine glass with a tea light in it. Awesome for a party at night, but they sell 3 for $20, which is kindof a rip. I bet you could make them right? The patters are just a darker white...maybe you could stencil it on with white paint?{from Charles & Marie via

AOTD: The King

In 1992, the US Postal Service allowed the public to vote which artwork they liked best for the Elvis stamp. Personally, I prefer Old Fart Elvis, but Young Elvis won out by more than 75 percent.{via Drawn}
Firsts...
What was your first CD/album? Mine was The Breeders - Last Splash. I think I bought it with Shannon in super-cool downtown North Everett.
Also, I need more votes on the bacon poll people.

Need Y'allz Ops on Food Again
September 29th People
Pretty much the biggest event of this century. The 2007 Red Bull Soap Box Race down Fremont Ave. Our friends, who have a special affinity for pickles and building crazy machines, have got themselves entered as team Slave to the Brine.

Food n' stuff
Wesa's yummy-looking peanut sauce recipe.
Has anyone heard of this before? They deliver organic produce to your house every week or every other week. Pretty cool. {New Roots Organic}
You could diet or you could take Alli.
I know most people know about CouchSurfing but it's still neat and if you don't you should check it out. I mean, I could never do it, because of the crazy, but if I was more of a free spirit I totes would. {CouchSurfing}

Classy bathroom
Even if it's not cool by the time I have a house, I'm still putting a chandelier in my bathroom.{"Country Bathrooms" slideshow from

Apple, why would you do this to me?
Trying to figure out how to transfer my itunes library to my work computer, and also still curious about the how-to since I had to re-format my home computer and recover all my music, I looked it up. Here's Boing-boing's thoughts on how and why apple screwed everyone. Not cool apple.

H&M coming to NG
According to Metroblogging and apparently Seattle Magazine pg. 191, H&M is coming to Northgate Mall next year. I'll believe it when I see it. But if this is true I'm going to have to start liking NG a whole lot more. They do have a Tubs nearby. That place is good.

AOTD: Animation Treasures
Found this blog via Drawn, and it's pretty amazing. Like these from the first Superman shorts, and some gorgeous ones from Fantasia.

before you go-go
I keep wanting to deny that I need this, but I totally do. "Clocky", is an alarm clock that runs away and hides from you to wake you up. But actually this might be dangerous for clocky, he might get shived.
AOTD: Neon Graveyard
I wanted to see this in Vegas, but didn't have time. The Neon Graveyard. "Carl" posted his flickr set with pics found via boing boing.{neon graveyard flickr set}
