This is a fun game (although, I totally disagree with some of these, they made me think of completely different movies), "Famous Objects from Classic Movies" - how many can you guess right? BTW we started this game and had to finally stop because it seemingly goes on forever. I have no idea how many levels there are. If you have somewhere to be, I would recommend you don't start this until you have hours of free time!

How are you all? Sorry I didn't blog for a week. It happens. Anyway, ready for my best/worst dressed pics from the Golden Globes? {here's my last year's pics}

My ultimate favorite dress of the evening, this beautifully detailed blush colored gown worn by Shailene Woodley - picture doesn't do it justice!

Dare I say Tilda looks absolutely FIERCE AS HELL here? Her hair and everything is just rockin' for me right now. Crazy androgynous never worked so well.

Wow. I love Reese here - it's tough to see against the red carpet but she looked like an awesome surfer barbie on stage. Love it when she lets her hair look natural.

Even though this dress is not my personal style, Emma looks rad with the awesome make-up and love the color of this dress.

Laura. Dern. Dripping in emerald head-to-toe. She looks amazeballs.

Bow down to Selma. I'm calling this "disco chic".

Aaaand for my Worst Dressed pics...

Ugh. This dress is fine. This pic is more for the fact that you might as well just call this look "SEVERE". I'm tired of Angelina looking like this. Ugh get rid of the red red lipstick. Also, maybe consider eating a sandwich?

Shorts w/tights and boots: I have to admit to wearing my black shiny shorts to a bachelorette party last Saturday night. But it was a bachelorette party, a time when that sort of thing seems alright. I also wore it with my Cher shirt because...I can't pass up any opportunity to wear it!

Sole Proprieter or Just Unemployed?

Ugh. I've been working on this "Small Business" of mine for a while now. Sometimes it really feels like I'm running my own small design shop. Most times it feels like I'm merely trying to run my own small design shop, and lots of times it just feels like unemployment. I used to hear small biz owners say all the time how hard they worked, and I hate to admit that I never really believed them. How busy could they be? They are in charge of their own schedules! Now I realize that owning a small business means you do a ton of work for free. All the details that a traditional company would have a full staff to take care of, well, it's all on you. No health insurance, no HR department, no accountant. I mean, give it time, I may get there, but for now, I'm in charge of it all. And almost all of it I can't charge for. It's still exciting, and let's face it, it's the best of my slim options at the moment. I always dreamed I would own my own business some day, but in that dream I was making a living at it. Baby steps.

Pitt: Chapter Two

Y'all ready for Part Two and the Final Chapter of my Pitt visit? Ok, it starts out at our trip to The Mattress Factory, a museum that hosts mainly installation art with the slogan "art you can get into". I loved it because so often you have to stay such a distance away from art, and that 's just not as fun!

There was a pretty awesome view from their balcony. Time to pose!

I'm not sure exactly what these little paper thingies were, but I liked them.

Reminiscent of my Bahamas posing. I unfortunately can't tell you which installation this was from, but it was in a room made to look like a high school wrestling lockeroom and there was a political theme as well.

This is in a room by Yayoi Kusama, called "Infinity Dots Mirrored Room". As you can see, it was rad.

And the second room, "Repetitive Vision". Awesome.

I got a little obsessed with making the installation my own photo booth.

But this quote about the art sortof makes me think that was the reaction the artist wanted: "Her work explores the obliteration of the self, as the viewer becomes part of the work, reflected in mirrors, obstructed by organic forms, almost as if being sucked into the walls."

Ok, and then there was this entire floor by James Turrell that was 2 rooms that were mostly dark, and a third room that was COMPLETELY dark, that is, unless you sat for 15 minutes until the art was "revealed". Shannon and I didn't have the balls to wait the 15 minutes for our eyes to adjust. Wimps! In researching Turrell, I also realized he is the artist who created "Light Reign", that lives at The Henry (y'all know the one). Cool!

And up next: going up in the Dusquane Incline! It's like an old time trolley but SCARY! Not really but kindof.

Such good times, Y'all! I highly recommend a visit to Pittsburgh. It's even better if you have a great friend living there like I do :)

Dudes! Pittsburgh was great. You know with friends you haven't seen in a while, it's just so much better to have more than a few hours to catch up. Life flies by!

First things first: we went to the Andy Warhol Museum. It was really cool and well done. Lots of cool Andy stuff that I had no idea about. And things that seemed relevantly irrelevant today (we had some arty farty discussions, it was fab).

I would totally recommend you go there if you ever visit Pittsburgh. Warhol really made some amazing important contributions. Here I am posing in the entrance...I need a new "standing pose"...people are catching on to my obvious knee bend.

Shannon's apartment is adorable! I love the stained glass. The architecture in this city is such a cool mix...I decided it's Baltimore meets Boston meets DC meets some elements of the Midwest.

Shannon is a cool grad student and she had some meetings one day - no biggie cuz I had lots of computer time that I needed to catch up on. Headed on over the the Coffee Tree (?I think) to laptop it. Lots of students hanging out in there. They are all so wholesome looking! "Hipster" has not hit Pittsburgh yet.

I got this "orangesicle" - this sounds lame but it was soooo good. I'll totally be trying to re-create one at home. Also, who still uses a flip phone? ugh.

Later we went to a brewery in an old church. So cool - Pittsburgh has a ton of restaurants that are in converted buildings: fire houses, gas stations, churches, etc. It's neat :)

The inside of The Church Brew Works was like a beer hall! See the altar? And all the beer being made up there?

I can't even remember which beer I got but it was the blonde girly one.

Then....Shannon took me to the famous, Primanti Brothers. Famous because the story goes that Primanti catered to truckers passing through, and they couldn't eat an entire complicated meal, so they just put the coleslaw & the fries all in the sandwich. It was a hit.

On recommendation of our server ("trust the fat guy", he said), I ordered the pastrami.

It was DIVINE. I ate the whole damn thing.
