Decisions, Decisions.

Sigh. This wedding planning is breaking me down. And that's not good because we haven't even planned anything yet. SERIOUSLY GUYS - what is wrong with me? It's all the decisions. I can't decide on anything! And I wouldn't consider myself a particularly indecisive person, so this is a surprise. Of course, if money was no object, then there would be no decisions to be made. I'd probably end up like one of those crazy bitches on TLC who loses all perspective and makes horrible taste choices. Aaaaanyway, we did make one tiny decision the other day: we picked our cake flavorS! 3 different flavors because we couldn't decide. So there you go, the non-decision decision. Although, I am sooooo unsure which "look" I want to pick. I'm torn. I need y'allz help.

Cake Style A: Cascading Loose Roses.

Cake Style B: Elegant "Beading" on off-white contrasting icing.

We picked "round" layers so even with choice #A it would be rounded tiers. Which do you all like best? And I strictly want either one, no combo of both. Less is more! Help me out!

Phone vs Email

I'm terrible at phone calls. I only call people when it's been on my "to-do" list for EVER. And I dread it. I don't know why but talking on the phone is just awkward for me. I feel like I have to be in a perfectly quiet space, with absolutely no distractions. And how often are we in that position? I also feel like I can't choose my words as carefully or think on my feet as well. And then there's no polite way to end a phone call. It's all just awkard and totally not a replacement for being face-to-face.

Email, on the other hand...oooh, I loves me some emails. I get to carefully craft an email at a time that's convenient for me. The other person can respond when they have time. No one is put "on the spot" and you don't have to awkwardly end an email. You just end it "xoxo :) :)" and it's all good.

Except that: some people are the exact opposite of me! I have found over the last 3 years that people are either email or phone people. When we moved, I feel like it was a lot easier to stay in touch with friends that loved emailing back and forth as much as I did (like pen pals! I used to love writing letters). We just naturally had more communication. That's not to say that I wasn't still friends with my phone-preference peeps, but I wasn't as close to them. I do have friends however, who are only phone people, and they call me regularly and I credit them with keeping our friendship going (Annie!). They are awesome at checking in with me even when I've been negligent about calling them. It is a challenge when two people are opposites as far as communication goes though. I think it just means that I need to keep email, email, emailing, and they need to keep call, call, calling. Eventually, we'll reach each other.

So I want to know if I'm weird - what is your preference? Phone calls or emails?

Why haven't I blogged for two days?

I am in a blog funk, peeps! Sometimes I'm just not feeling inspired, y'know? So for today, why don't we just...chat. How is everyone? What are your weekend plans? I've got a tentative hh plan, that could involve something called "cask" beer. What is that? Saturday I'm getting my hair cut. Soooo overdue. Did I mention I've been getting my haircuts from the same person for 15 years? Yeah. This will be an adventure! I'll let you know how it turns out. Sunday will be a day of chillin', and perhaps pot pie makin' (or should I do sheperd's pie?).
