Sortof strange therefore fantastic by Joshua Ellingson.
These are from photographer Todd Hido's "homes at night" and "landscapes" series. They're creepy and ominous so I can't stare at them too long but I love the moodiness about them.

This is John's carpet. New Years rules. I love it and I love champagne and cigars and john's tiny stanky ass apartment is the perfect place for it. Oooh! I thought of another resolution: see more art shows. I'm really gonna do that one.
Including this guy's "personal collection of aquariums and fish tanks". The "fish tank of the month" section is particularly enjoyable. It has SIX AQUASPACES! I don't know why this is interesting. Ok I don't know why anything on boing boing is but I've accepted that. This is a pic of his newest endeavor: "palmtop aquariums". Hot.
Happy NY from Toon Club.
Yesterday was fantastic. It was my birthday and I was too busy having a totally awesome day to post. Oh well! Happy Christmas Eve everyone.....in celebration of the baby jesus here is a fabulous manse. This is the very manse that inspired Disney's Haunted House. [evergreen house]
I feel like this is something I would do when I was wee. Actually, I might have. Weird kiddos are hilarious. [from ballard ave blog]
I mean, wtf is this? It's amazing. This installation titled "Head On", by Cai Guo-Qiang is totally amazing and I wish I could see it in person. In the information on the piece it says: "99 life-sized replicas of wolves and glass". It's perfection. [Cai Guo-Qiang]
Since Target is so awesome in their support of design for everyone, they partnered with AIGA to launch several projects that would bring design into the classroom. This poster was designed by Rafael Esquer. It was influenced by Picasso's vases and was accompanied by an activity for students.
Cool Hunting dug up these buttons from Fling (badasses aiming to bring fine art to the public). They have generic small-talk phrases that are not the most sincere like "I'm listening," "It's great to be here," "I promise" and "You look great." I really want the "I'm listening" one, because I'm totally never listening.

It's been a while since I've posted a hot Manse...and I've found a goodie for ya. This is a smokin' wine country estate in Sonoma, California. I kindof get carried away when I start thinking about my wine country manse. It also says this property is great for the "horse enthusiast". Phew! I was worried for a minute there.
It's the Playboy Townhouse!! Circa 1962. This manse is the hotness and everyone knows it.
Haha. Y'allz know I have this. I might have even given it to you. "A graphic designer in London" (aka Ben Terrett) talks about this crippling disease on his blog. Oh and I like how he uses "proper" in a sentence.

This is amusing. Shelf/artstatement that puts all major religious texts on one level. And it's only $2,500!!! Bargain.
Kim, today's art is dedicated to you. It's by Marilyn Patrizio and it's called, "Portrait of Timmie".
Art of the day by amazingly talented Nathan Fox. His website is totally bitchin' AND in 3D.
Introducing the Thunder Chunky Christmas Project. Pretty much the most fabulous idea ever. Check it out here for a daily dose of festive illustration. Huzzah christmas spirit!
Ack! A true contender for the hunting lodge manse. D'you think I can shoot skeet of the balcony off my master bedroom? Crossy fingy!
Justin Hillgrove has just updated his web site and added a bunch of new smallish, affodable paintings to his art store. [impsandmonsters] This is also a tribute to yesterday."Hangover"
