If I Could Turn Back Tiaaaahm...!

THIS JUST IN: Cher is coming out of retirement. Vegas. Caesars. Starting May 6th.

"Cher promises a 'visually unbelievable' hit parade that entails elaborate choreography, complex staging, eye-popping costumes, 14 dancers and four aerialists. The music will access all chapters of Cher's career, from her Sonny & Cher start to her recent dance-pop phase, and she's plotting updates of both old and new hits. Cher insists her Vegas splash won't recycle Farewell's motifs: 'I'd like to be challenged.'" {USA Today}

Hot Manse: Betsey Johnson's Apartment

"a lavishly presented confection of fifties Hollywood glamour trimmed in lace, velvet, and gold tassels"

Where do I sign? It's listed at $3.6 mil. I'd also consider what it used to look like before she redecorated. Also fabulous.

Recycled TV Bar

I really want to have a bar
when I'm all grown up. This is an awesome idea. {How-To Here}

AOTD: Chuck Close Inspiration

Love this commentary about artist Chuck Close, and his thoughts on working through roadblocks.

If you can create a process that short circuits some of your own worst habits, and you really believe in that process, eventually you'll get a sweater, a nine-foot painting, chicken enchiladas, a Web site, a marathon.

Cute NYs Idea

From presentation queen, Marfa:

"For a contemporary centerpiece that turns into party favors at the stroke of midnight, arrange a group of colorful noisemakers on top of a cake stand (use glasses to hold any items that don't stand up by themselves). Fill in the surrounding spaces with tinsel. When it's time for the countdown, every one of your guests will have the means to make plenty of celebratory noise"

The internet is dead to me...

Some of you (oh, all...5 of you) may have noticed that posting has been light. This is due to the internet being lame and not having anything cool on it. I swear, I've been all over it, and nope! Nothing Mogulling-worthy.

So let's just talk amongst ourselves. First off: posting has been strong on RecipeMogul, where I store a lot of my recipe ideas. January has me very uninspired to do anything. Take a quick peruse of RM and let me know if there's anything in particular you'd like to see me cook and report on.

And does anyone have any ideas on how to stay motivated in the winter? I'm feeling very lazy, and wanting to trade all my resolutions in for more easy ones like, "keep up with my tivo", and "buy new sweat pants"....

Peace out Quiffsa, see you in '09

They demolished it finally! I'm sad because now I have to go the extra 5 blocks to Ballard Market for ice cream at 1 am...but Quiffsa will return in '09, underneath a "scandinavian-design" 8-story apt building. I'm glad it's apartments and not condos. {via My Ballard}

Finally finished 'em

'Member my octopus charm tutorial post from way back?
I finally made 'em. Success!

A Year of Cakes

Martha is the queen of presentation...check out her "year of cakes" list, for divine cake inspiration. I hate to say this, but I bet you could take any generic store-bought cake and dress it up like one of these. It would look awesome. {MS Year of Cakes}
