Here Comes the Sun

Guess who made it to Agua Verde for happy hour yesterday!?! Me n' my cohab. That's right, we actually got a table, outside, without standing in line first. It was a miracle!

I got the 3 enchiladas:

I do not recommend eating this much food. Unless you have plans to nap afterward. But it was so good. The middle one, the seafood enchilada, was the best.

Keene ordered "half" (HUGE) of an undocumented mango pork quesadilla, which was awesome, and 3 sides:

I liked 'em but of course they had cilantro. Damn you, cilantro!

A Little More Weekend Re-Cap for Ya...

More. Fun. Times. Did you know that you can fill entire months with just fun times? It's true!

First of all, last week I got to spend some time with another one of the cutest babies EVER: Oliver. My neighbors (we will be nabes again some day!) Tim and Carrie made an entire person in the time I was gone in DC last year! Anyway, I finally got to meet the little bugger and he is super cute. Can I get a witness? He's a gazer. He will gaze at you like that and then you'll be all: Heart = Melting. BAH! I'm really happy for my friends and their new addition.

So Oliver was an impossible act to follow but I did my best by going on a fancy date with my cohab. Keene made reservations at Cafe Campagne for us, and I was really excited. We've been talking about going there for a LONG time and finally got to try it out.

It was super hard to choose what to order because everything sounded awesome. We started with the escargot. If our faves from Montmare are a ten then these were a solid 8/9. A little more "earthy" and less buttery but in a good way...

I ordered the goat cheese baked on crustade - the goat cheese AND the bread were both fab. I also liked the salad along side it.

Keene got the green beans aka "hericots verts en salade" and besides the bacon the best part of this was the lemon vinaigrette. I'm going to attempt to re-create this but I'm not sure I'll be able to cook the beans as perfectly as these!

Here's my sauteed trout with lemon butter sauce - fabulous!

Keene's "Saucisson A La Maison" which was house-made sausage over greens (in butter, obvs). Really good!

After dinner we drove around and looked at some Queen Anne manses...*sigh*...who lives in those?!?! And we paused at Kerry Park to take some pics of the awesome view. Oh, Seattle...

The weekend fun only continued with 4th of July shenanigans...Josiane hosted a bbq again at her place this year. We chilled out at Woodland Park and grilled under the pop-up tent that thank GAWD the Logans brought or else we would've been soaked or had to leave. Stupid Seattle and it's rainy Summer we're having. Oh well we stuck it out like true hardcore Northwesterners and it cleared up in time for the fireworks from Josiane's roof. Huzzah!

Las Vegas 2010: The Final Chapter.

Everybody made it to Vegas finally and it was time for a Ladies Night!!! Here are Annie, Megan and I trying unsuccessfully not to show to much cleave.

Group Picture! We went to "Sirio," an Italian restaurant in the new city center complex.

It was pretty good! The service was fab, and the food was awesome. Definitely Vegas prices, but it was good stuff. I HEART bruschetta, so had to get it. I didn't take a picture of my mushroom ravioli but that's because they were amazing and I couldn't stop eating to document.

Isn't this dessert pretty? It was delicious too. Strawberries with sweet balsamic and whipped cream. Now of course I want a fancy slicer doodad so I can make this at home.

Annie found a new pet.

After dinner we went for a stroll and of course everyone had to pee (almost in our 30s), so we hit up the Belagio. Whaddup Chihuly!

I also love the Belage.

We stayed for the show - thankfully no Celine Dion this time!

Word.

Then we went to the Paris and Wendi won BIG! $40 off the fish game!

Kim and I caught the gamblin' fever...

...and then I played slots and won $20!!! I OWN YOU, KITTY GLITTER. That is why I look mental in this picture. Big winnins!

People, I came home a total winner: won some dough, got to spend quality time with my ladies, bought some stuff I didn't need, and soaked up a little vitamin D. Wooo Vegas! Can't wait for next year :)

After collecting ourselves, we headed over to The Paris for some champagne brunch. Why not get a bloody mary while waiting in line, eh? Annie and Megan were pros, and wanted to show the camera that they were drinking at 11:17. Still in their 20's...

oh my gah, champagne brunch had me waddling along through Caesar's back to our hotel...and a little buzzed...so when we passed by the apple store I made a beeline and bought an ipod touch. Cuz I do what I want! And also because everyone else had one. I HAD to have one too.

Then Bethany the only local in the bunch sweetly had us over to her house for a pool party and to meet her new baby, Miles. It was a wild party! ;)

The fun did not stop after the party...Megan, Kim and I went out exploring after we got back to the strip. First a stop in the gift shop: and what do we have here? Tiny bottle of Patron? I am classy and bought it. Woo!
